When all the hype from New Year is over and you’ve polished off the last of your Ferrero Rocher’s, it’s time to get back to business. No we aren’t talking about your career, we’re talking about you. It’s true what they say: charity really does begin at home.
We’ve heard your fitness and foodie promises (not to mention weight loss goals, we won’t hear of that here!), and now it’s time we shared a few of the 2020 skin pledges from a few of our favourites. Cue inspiration, what will you do?!
First up is someone who usually spends their day making up the rich and famous… she’s an artist on the surface but knows the importance of a good base too… it’s makeup artist, Gina Dowle (@ginadowlemakeup).
“Although I am constantly giving skincare advice to my clients and recommending a good regime to them, I feel I have been a little slack with my own routine lately! Not only have I been dealing with the usual winter dryness and festive season breakouts, but I am a new vegetarian and have noticed a drastic change in the texture of my skin. My skin used to be very oily, but now it has flipped to feeling dry and tight. I have swapped over products to the Freya and Bailey ‘Reboot’ range which has done wonders and really calms down my angry skin after a long day. My 2020 skincare pledge is to make sure I do my routine every morning and evening!”
Haven’t heard of ‘Reboot!’? It’s our incredible face moisturisers with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5 and blueberries, suitable for those with dry skin. Gentle in nature, it soothes your skin and keeps it healthy, whilst living up to all the benefits that our other products possess… anti-pollution, vegan, cruelty-free and making use of natural and organic ingredients.

Dry skin isn’t everyone’s skin ailment, but whatever yours is, we’re here to help! Our next guest is Shannon Peerless (@shannongoesvegan), a vegan fitness influencer with a passion for keeping things kind.
“My skin pledge for 2020 is to have more make-up free days to give my skin a break, and also to really try to stop touching my face whilst at my desk at work. I think this contributes towards the breakouts I get on my chin/jawline, as I regularly rest my chin or cheeks on my hand when I'm deep in thought and I know this is a bad habit I need to break for the sake of clear skin! Turning vegan has already massively reduced the number of spots I get, but I think this last step would allow me to see the back of breakouts for good!”
Relatable? Breakouts along your jawline can be caused by hormones and diet, but keeping your skin clean is also important to not add fuel to the fire. This calls for getting deep… with a regular but gentle exfoliator to remove build up from left over makeup, oil and dead skin cells (ew).

Rub this into damp skin, using a circular motion to remove impurities and polish your skin for a fresh-faced glow. Focus on those problem areas, particularly around your t-zone and in the crevices of your nose.
Exfoliating really is the start of great skin, but to reap the most rewards consider this as part of a wider routine too. A weekly mask could really help to draw out impurities or boost your usual method of moisturising.
Someone we know well who is constantly juggling the joys of having a toddler, full time job AND a social life (no, we don’t know how she does it either), is our next mummy influencer, Lauren Wilden (@growingoutandup).
“2020 marks the year I turn 29 (June 15th if anyone wants to pop it in their diaries!) and I want to mark the last birthday of my twenties as the year I take control of the problem areas I have with my skin. As well as looking to reduce the oily areas I have in my t-zone, I also want to try and reduce the redness that occurs during cold weather.”
Lauren, prepare to conquer all! ‘Doyenne!’ our miracle face serum with Vitamin C is the beauty secret that moisturises, heals and balances. Although we recommend this for fine lines, it’s also incredibly good at giving your skin the extra tender loving care that will see you through problems like these, thanks to the aloe vera and seaweed. What’s more, you can slap it on after you’ve cleansed and moisturised and job’s a good’un.

Another of our vegan lovers is Yasmin Dimario (@yasmindimario). As a minimalist, we know that everything said and done by this beauty queen is significant and deliberate…
“My skin goals for the years is to clear any acne scars and have hydrated glowy skin.”
With such importance to buying decisions from a minimalist lifestyle, we know that this one had to nail it. If brightening and detoxifying skin is your mission, then ‘Gray!’ is your answer. Gray! Minx Face Mask contains Kaolin clay to draw out pollutants and charcoal to balance. Whilst all this is going on, we made sure to include hydrating oils and vitamins to replenish and restore your skin harmony. One product. One solution.

So there you have it. Four skin pledges from four fantastic people who are living their best lives. We hope this has inspired you to think about your skin goals for 2020 and, of course, if there’s anything we can do to support, get in touch!
From yours truly,
